Education Summary

Educational activities are the strongest mechanism available to the Permittees for improving water quality in storm water discharges. During Year One and Year Two, much work has been done to educate the public about non-point source pollution. It is anticipated that the educational programs will result in the most improvement in storm water discharges for the least expense. The industrial inspections programs were designed to inform industry and businesses about the types of practices that contribute to pollution. In many cases, businesses implemented changes immediately after the inspection visit. This year, a training program for construction site operators was developed for implementation in year three.
